What’s in Season?

Christmas Room

Chuck Hafner’s has Syracuse’s largest selection of Christmas decorations and artificial trees in our 25,000 square foot Christmas wonderland.

We have over 35 individually themed trees and over 20,000 ornaments on display in our Christmas store to help inspire you. Each tree is designed by one of our team members and features the latest trends in Christmas decor.

From Christmas ornaments to tabletop decorations we have a stunning selection of Christmas decorations.

Fresh Cut Trees

Chuck’s Fresh Cut Christmas Trees are locally grown and harvested on our tree farms in Kirkville and Pompey NY. As the grower, we can begin our tree harvest later in the season, continually cutting right up to Christmas. As a result we have the best selection of fresh cut Christmas trees in Syracuse New York. Available beginning 11/16.

Homegrown Poinsettias

Chuck’s Holiday Poinsettias are locally grown in our growing houses adjacent to our garden center in Syracuse. We grow over 14,000 every year.

Planting begins in mid-July ready for sales in mid-November and continuing through December. Being the grower gives us complete control over the entire growing process. This gives you the healthiest longest lasting Poinsettias on the market.

Fresh Wreaths, Garlands, and Centerpieces

Our selection of Balsam Fir and Fraser fir wreaths is the most extensive in Syracuse. Most of our Fraser fir wreaths are handmade in-house with greens harvested from our own tree farms.

Also available are a range of decorated holiday wreaths that are crafted daily (you can see one of our team making them in the store!) by our inspired team.

Holiday Fundraisers

Is your organization looking for a fun, festive holiday fundraiser? It doesn’t get any easier than selling Chuck Hafner’s beautiful poinsettias and wreaths!

We want to help our local schools and organizations reach their goals and have set an exclusive fundraising price on our holiday poinsettias and wreaths to maximize your return!

A Guide To Pruning

A very common question our nursery professionals are asked is when do I prune my tree or shrub. The answers depend upon multiple factors such as purpose of pruning or when flower buds are produced. Here is a guide to help you determine if and when to prune in your landscape.

Preparing Your Garden For Winter

With winter on its way, don’t leave your plants unprotected.  We’ve compiled these tips to help you keep your garden healthy and prepare it for winter.

Central New York’s Largest Garden Nursery

When the Hafner family began planning their expansion, they knew straight away that they wanted the largest space possible to display the plants that they sell. In 2006 Jess Hafner and his team traveled around Europe and the US searching out the best examples of garden centers to inspire them while they were designing the new store. They returned with ideas both encompassing inspiration and functionality. The result was a garden center that includes a 7-acre nursery designed to be a gigantic landscape. Over 60 display beds divided by winding paved pathways gives our customers the best selection of high-quality nursery stock, displayed in a beautiful environment, easy to shop, and sure to inspire.

Gardening Guides

The team here at Chuck Hafner’s are well known for their knowledge across all gardening areas. To help share that knowledge with our customers, we have created a series of gardening guides. From taking care of your hanging baskets or houseplants to growing your own vegetables and herbs you will find tips, tricks, and hopefully some inspiration for your own garden and home.

Environmental

Many people would say the Hafner family have been green to the core all their lives. When they decided to build their new state of the art facility in 2008 here on Buckley Road the decision was made to make sure it was as environmentally sensitive as possible.
