The landscape division at Chuck Hafner’s Garden Center offers our customers the ultimate convenience of having our professional lead landscape designer and staff create beautiful plans for your outdoor living space amidst our 7 acre nursery with thousands of plants on display in over 60 beds. The Landscape division is led by our top designer Dan Metz with over 40 years of Landscape design and installation experience.
Our highly trained staff are experienced in all phases of landscape and hardscape installations. From our popular worry free tree installation program, to complicated large scale projects, Chuck Hafner’s Landscapes has been serving the community since 2004.
Our Process
Using our many years of landscaping experience we can guide you through the process of designing & installing your new outdoor living space whether it be a new paved patio, a water feature, poolside plantings, new plantings, or an outdoor kitchen!
On-Site Visit – The first step in the process is to arrange an appointment with one of our designers so we can come out to your location. At this initial meeting, we look over the area to be landscaped, listen to your ideas, and discuss the kinds of plants that you like. This helps us to create your ideal outdoor space.
Design Creation – Once we have all the information we need the next stage is to produce a scaled color computer design that details the layout and plantings of your new landscaping.
Design Meeting – We then meet with you at our offices in Syracuse where you can see the design we have proposed as well as samples of the products we will use in the design (such as stone) and examples of the suggested plants in the Nursery here at Chuck Hafner’s Garden Center.
Installation! – Once you agree upon the design we can set a date for the installation to begin (installations are always dependent upon the weather!)
Our Services
Tree Installation Program POPULAR!
When you purchase a tree from Chuck Hafner’s Garden Center and choose our team for installation, your plant is guaranteed for 2 years from the date of purchase at 100% of the original purchase price. If your tree should fail within 2 years of installation, we will replace it with the same tree, or a tree of equal value. Your installation includes delivery, all necessary soil amendments, natural mulch, stakes and wire.
We understand that trees are an important investment in the look and feel of your home; our tree installation program helps to protect your investment.
Paving and Retaining Walls
Paving and retaining walls are a great way to frame and finish your garden by adding style or a focal point. They help to create usable land for planting and entertainment, and are also a great way to help prevent erosion and manage runoff.
We use only premium products for our patios, paths, and retaining walls from companies including Nicolock and Cambridge.
Our installations are guaranteed for 5 years and are installed by our own ICPI certified installers.

Our design services are intended for people who are looking to install their own plants and trees but need some guidance on what plant material to choose and where to plant. Our design team will put together a scaled design with exact plants and spacing so you can achieve that professionally landscaped look at a fraction of the cost! - Accurate measurements of the area
- Orientation of the house (North, South, East, West)
- Distance to neighbors’ property (if applicable)
