The poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) is a plant native to Mexico which is where its connection with Christmas first began in the 16th Century.
They are popular Christmas decorations in homes all across the world and are used as centerpieces (combined with garlands and roping) and individual Christmas accents.
Each Poinsettias journey begins in the middle of July when we handplant over 14,000 plants.
Up to 4 individual plugs are planted in each pot with sizes of 4.5″, 6.5″, 8″, and 10″ available as well as our signature hanging baskets.
As the months pass by heading towards the Holiday season every single plant is cared for individually by Mark and his growing team.
Each individual plant is clipped by hand throughout the growing process to promote branching of the leaves. This results in more bracts which end up being the signature colored leaves everyone loves.
It is the care taken by our growing team, nurturing each plant throughout the longest growing program we have in our growing houses, that results in the stunning poinsettias we sell during the holiday season all across Central New York.
